Lyra copyedited an academic paper for me, and I was greatly impressed with the high quality of work she delivered. The punctuation, grammar, and spelling edits she made helped make my ideas much easier to read and understand. Her bibliographic assistance was invaluable. The final version exceeded my expectations. Indeed, in reading the piece "one last time," it was evident that we had reached way beyond the point of diminishing returns, which is when the perfectionist in me knows that it is time to stop and submit. Lyra is professional and responsive. It's obvious she takes pride in the work she delivers, and she cares. I highly recommend her for anyone who needs excellent copyediting services.

Lyra provides audiobook manuscript preparation tailored to our production and narrator specifications. Her scripts are marked up for maximum readability, and her flexibility makes it easy for authors, narrators, and our production team to work with her. She handles projects that need more time and attention than in-house production schedules can allow, and her meticulous approach reduces studio time and eliminates unnecessary retakes. She remains our go-to for complex audiobook projects requiring a polished, production-ready script.

I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from the upper-tier developmental edit, especially since my manuscript had already been through a two rounds of developmental editing with different editors. I went for it because the service sounded good and I wanted tools, but I couldn't quite visualize what I'd be getting for it. Lyra’s feedback went beyond the usual comments and summaries. The structural maps and reader engagement audits alone were worth it. The story bible is something I can even use for future books in tt his series. I'm a very visual person so being able to see where elements dipped helped me spot and fix issues I’d (and the previous editor) missed completely—especially with the multiple POVs and nonlinear timelines I'm working with. The follow-up calls were also incredibly helpful for talking through ideeas and thoughts.
This is the first book in a planned series, so making sure everything is solid now is especially important. (I'm working on a dark fantasy romance with a lot of emotional weight).
If you’re on the fence about the upper-tier service just go for it becasue the additional support is wooooorth it. I've gone through editing processes before with different editors but tor the first time, It was clear I had a professional editor in my corner.

I contacted Lyra for indexing after realizing the publisher’s version wasn’t suited to my book. While its structure was serviceable, the term and concept selections were often wrong, and papyri sources were misindexed. My subject, historical theology with scriptural sources in Hebrew, Greek, and English, required precise conceptual accuracy, so I decided to start fresh to ensure this accuracy from the beginning, which is essential for a university press reference work.
Lyra was responsive and collaborative throughout. She applied a controlled vocabulary and clear taxonomic structure to the index (which is what the dense subject matter needed only I didn't know it) and produced an author index, a subject index, and an index of religious texts, all of which exceeded both my and my publisher's expectations.
While indexing, she also flagged citation and source errors missed in earlier edits and proofreads, giving me the chance to fix them before publication, which I am very grateful for. I will hire her again for future indexing and am already using her for research assistance and copyediting for two of my current projects.
I choose to remain anonymous to avoid drawing attention to the earlier indexing issues or the previous indexer.
